Ten dollars buys you a Portage Co-op Membership. You immediately begin sharing in the company’s success. At the end of the year, if our financial statement shows earnings, you as a member will share in the profits, according to how much you have purchased at the Co-op!

HERE’S THE EXAMPLE!
In 2007, if you had bought $1,000.00 worth of gas, $4,000.00 worth of food and $1,000.00 worth of hardware or building supplies, as a Co-op member you would have earned $315.00 in share equity! The Board of Directors then decides to purchase back a percentage of your member equity.   This amount becomes a cash payment to you!
