HERE’S THE EXAMPLE!
In 2010, if you had bought $1,000.00 worth of gas, $4,000.00 worth of food and $1,000.00 worth of hardware or building supplies, as a Co-op member you would have earned $245.00 in share equity! The Board of Directors then decides to purchase back a percentage of your member equity.   This amount becomes a cash payment to you!
